2. Export Sales Decline Across the Board Due to Cancelations Export sales of corn, wheat and beans all declined in the seven days that ended on April 29, according to the USDA. Corn sales last week were reported at 137,400 metric tons, down 74% from the previous week and 72% from the prior four-week average, the agency said in a report. Japan was the big buyer at 206,800 metric tons, Mexico took 141,600 tons, South Korea purchased 121,700 tons, Colombia was in for 118,600 tons and China bought 83,100 tons from U.S. supplies. Soybeans Jump to Highest in Almost Seven Years Soybeans surged to the highest price in almost seven years and grains were higher in overnight trading on adverse weather conditions in South America. Farmers in parts of Brazil, the world’s largest exporter of soybeans, have been unable to harvest their mature crops due to excessive precipitation in several growing areas.
