Flagler County hosts vigil, remembers those who died from COVID

She was just one of dozens of family members, county officials and faith leaders who gathered in front of the Flagler County Government Services building Monday afternoon, to remember and honor the lives that have been lost to COVID-19.
“It meant a lot to our commissioners; they were very passionate about COVID-19 and trying to get this county vaccinated to keep everyone safe,” said Lacy Martin, marketing media manager for Flagler County. “Everybody really just wanted to honor those victims that were lost.”
Flagler County Chairman Donald O’Brien led the outdoor ceremony where eight different faith leaders from across the county spoke and led the attendees in prayer. ....

Flagler County Hosts Candlelight Vigil in Remembrance of 111 Residents Lost to Covid-19

Flagler County is hosting a candlelight vigil at 4 p.m. Monday (May 17) to remember those residents who lost their lives to Covid-19. The ceremony will take place in front of the Government Services – inside if it rains. It is the first such commemoration by a local government in Flagler.
“The coronavirus pandemic has affected our ability to pay tribute to our loved ones who have died,” said Board of County Commissioners Chair Donald O’Brien. “One of the best ways to honor the collective grief we are experiencing because of the pandemic is by remembering those who died.” ....

Flagler County is hosting a candlelight vigil at 4 p.m. Monday, May 17, to remember those residents who lost their lives to COVID-19. The ceremony will take place in front of the Government Services – inside if it rains.
“The coronavirus pandemic has affected our ability to pay tribute to our loved ones who have died,” said Board of County Commissioners Chair Donald O’Brien. “One of the best ways to honor the collective grief we are experiencing because of the pandemic is by remembering those who died.”
