Published on February 7th, 2021 In 1859, the U.S. Senate signed the Treaty of Hellgate with the Bitterroot Salish, Kootenai, and Pend d’Oreilles tribes who today are known as the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Nation.
