We don t have passengers. we re not trying to get revenue. so it is different in that regard. but it s monsoon season. i don t know what picture look at the picture you re seeing right now. that picture i would have either gone south or gone a different route. but again, i don t know what the pilot so i m being a little harsh in guessing because i don t know what weather picture the pilot saw. but that is not a good picture. those are very severe thunderstorms. what i do know is that airplane went in to a thunderstorm and it didn t come out. so it had to be a very severe thunderstorm to have an impact on it to where the airplane did not come out, whether it was a flight control problem whether it was a failure somewhere because of the severity of the thunderstorm, we don t know that yet. but we do know it didn t come out of that thunderstorm. general, we re also hearing reports they may have been flying too slow. ....

The original turn-back was towards the closest available airport, so that makes sense. so the initial part actually makes sense, some sort of catastrophic problem. when you say catastrophic, you don t mean instantaneous, you mean mechanical issues on board that the pilot had time to try to make that turn to try to find the closest airport. sure. yeah, some sort of progressive problem like smoke in the cockpit if you had an electrical fire in the avionics bay or something like that, he would have turned to the nearest airport which would have made sense. under that hypothesis if they became incapacitated or if there was a flight control problem. if there was a flight control problem, they still would have had the radio, so it s hard to figure out. what really doesn t make sense on that, though, was if they did become incapacitated and the airplane was flying along, it would normally continue in the direction it was going because it would have been programmed either in the flight man ....

Ios, instrument landing system, that s only in weather. otherwise, you are on visual flight rules. they land all the time. they have their depth perception. so not having the ios on a clear day it was clear at this building, unlimited. was not a problem. should not have entered into this. shannon: okay. somebody with the airline has said there were not engine problems on the plane the ceo. does that suggest to you he has had a conversation with the pilots and he probably has an initial assumption about what happened. i think it does, which is a little bit troubling because if it wasn t an engine problem and if it wasn t he said his pilots were very experienced, intimating that they couldn t have made a mistake. then where is it? it s one of two things. huan engine problem or you had a pilot error. now, it could have been a flight control problem, but nowhere along the line do they say, ear call out, we are having flight ....
