Maharashtra political crisis LIVE: Several Shiv Sena MLAs led by Eknath Shinde have revolted against the party, plunging the MVA government in Maharashtra into a crisis. The rebel MLAs are camping at a Guwahati hotel. The MVA is an alliance of Sharad Pawar's NCP, Uddhav Thackeray's party & Congress.

The ruling MVA alliance of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress is battling a political crisis that unfolded last week after Sena minister Eknath Shinde went to Surat in Gujarat and from there to Guwahati in Assam with several Sena MLAs. Both the states are ruled by the BJP.

Amid the political crisis in Maharashtra following senior Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde's rebellion, party's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut on Thursday claimed of being in touch with 20 rebel MLAs who are camping in Assam's Guwahati.

Maharashtra Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Jayant Patil on Thursday made it categorically clear that if the Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra falls the NCP will prefer to sit in Opposition.
