Stuart E. âStuâ Northrop Stuart E. “Stu” Northrop, 96, of The Villages, Fla., formerly of Springdale Avenue, Jamestown, died Monday, Dec. 21, 2020 in Florida. A native of Jamestown, he was born June 3, 1924, the son of the late Clarence “Rusty” and Audrey Curtis Northrop. He was a 1942 graduate of Jamestown High School. Stuart was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy as an aviation machinist’s mate second class and as a nose gunner until the end of the war and honorable discharged in 1946.
