Voters: Over 96k 'D' voters in state: Himanta | Assam News | Guwahati News

There are 96,987 ‘D’ voters in Assam as on date while over 89,000 have been removed from the tag from 1997 to 2023, chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said in reply to a question by Congress MLA Sherman Ali Ahmed. Over 1.59 lakh people have been declared as ‘foreigners’ in the state so far. Over 3.37 lakh cases have been disposed as on December 31 last year and over 96,000 cases are pending under various Foreigners’ Tribunals.
