Ryan Bendawald is accused of sexually abusing women and trading sex and sexual favors for favorable police treatment while with the Caldwell Police Department.
According to the U.S. Attorney of Idaho, Bendawald is accused of violating at least seven women's civil rights and abusing his position as a law enforcement officer.
Hoadley was initially scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 15, 2022, but the date was reset to Feb. 6, 2023, after a judge considered and denied a motion for new trial.
Hoadley is accused of violating a detainee's civil rights in 2017. His trial in U.S. District Court in Boise began Sept. 19 and is expected to wrap up Sept. 23.
The former Caldwell police sergeant pleaded "no contest" to official oppression. He was also found not guilty in a civil lawsuit brought by Jackson's family.
