Former Venice Council Member Bob Daniels seeks legal fee reimbursement
In a June 21 letter to City Attorney Kelly Fernandez, Daniels noted that the state took longer to review the case and ultimately dismiss the complaint because of the COVID-19 pandemic and a change in the court magistrate. Daniels’ total legal bill was $10,602 but he used $1,400 remaining in his campaign account to cover a portion of the bill. In a one-page statement Florida Commission on Ethics Chairman JoAnne Leznoff said there was no probable cause that he violated state statues in the matter.
