The mandatory Direct Vision Standards (DVS) and Low Emission Zone (LEZ) extensions cause problems, particularly for vehicles not native to the city, many bringing essential supplies from overseas.
With both DVS and the updated LEZ imposed from 1 March transgression can result in draconian penalties with charges of £550 per day for HGVs not conforming to the new TfL ‘Star’ system for vehicle cabs with adequate all round vision, while the LEZ is causing problems best illustrated by the following open letter sent directly to the Mayor by Mike Parr, Managing Director of Perishable Movements Ltd (PML). ....
