The debate over removing  the Confederate soldier statue that stands outside the Williamson County Courthouse has been going on for years. It will receive a new focus after county commissioners and the county judge appoint a 15-member committee in January to study the monument, which was erected in 1916 by the Daughters of the Confederacy.
