The 12 new water stations feature refrigerated, filtered bottle fillers and drinking fountains with high and low spout options that are ADA compliant.
The $170-million complex will have 316 residential units for graduate students and their families and a childcare facility.
Construction cost about $73 million, but with “soft costs” including planning, design, permitting and more, the final total was close to $100 million, UH said.
The facility will consist of two buildings and include 316 units with 558 beds, a childcare facility, retail and café space, bike storage, study rooms, laundry facility, mail and package room, outdoor amenity decks and on-site management.
