Islandwide, the 2022 tax savings received by 851 IDA projects totaled nearly $232 million, the highest among the state's 10 regions, according to a report card from state Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli.
The $35.6 million project will result in the retention of 68 permanent jobs.
The new transit-oriented development will bring 428 apartments and 5,575 square feet of retail space.
The developers plan to construct a two-story, 138,245-square-foot warehouse on 8.7 acres.
The two projects are part of an ongoing effort to revitalize the area’s downtown.
