Some of the performers of tomorrow were showing off their skills at the Conrad Centre for the Performing Arts Saturday evening.

After attending a Black Lives Matter rally in 2020 in the wake of the killing of George Floyd in the U.S., Rufus John of Kitchener, Ont., formed United Artists 4 Change. Two years later, the anthemic track Freedom Marching has been released.

Inspired by a global chorus against racism, a Canadian musician is releasing a new song this week as part of a bigger project — uplifting Black, Indigenous and racialized voices to speak out against injustice.
