Hundreds of COVID-19 patients in southeast Wisconsin are being treated for symptoms months after their original illness. Continuing Coverage: Coronavirus in WisconsinFroedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin is one of two local health systems that have set up special clinics to treat those so-called long haulers.Patients report burning lungs, brain fog and fatigue month after month.Those doctors are treating roughly 300 COVID-19 patients there who just can t seem to shake respiratory and other symptoms. They said it s as if their lungs are on fire. And if I ve heard that once, I ve heard that twenty times now, lung specialist Dr. Julie Biller said.Biller is leading a special clinic at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin for COVID-19 patients whose symptoms linger for months and months.
