by China Martens I want to send my sympathy this Mother’s Day, for the lives lost during the pandemic this last year, as well as in earlier years. I cannot see this Mother’s Day as anything but a day of mourning. The fact that I was able to share air with my only daughter, just last week, after so many months of socially distancing, now seems the greatest privilege of all. My heart goes out, as a single mother of one child, to all those who have lost loved ones. We have been separated from each other. There is so little middle ground.
