Benjamin Zander began yesterday’s Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra concert at Symphony Hall with the Ukrainian national anthem. Ravel’s La valse, Elgar’s Cello Concerto with Zlatomir Fung, and Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 followed.
