Two people have died and at least four others were injured following a gas pipeline blast near Oil & Natural Gas Corporation’s Kalol field in Gujarat, western India.
The blast took place on Tuesday morning after a gas pipeline leakage in a nearby residential area.
"Primarily it appears that two houses collapsed after a pipeline exploded due to gas leakage, experts are verifying it," Abhay Chudasama, Inspector General of Police of Gandhinagar Range told local reporters.
ONGC’s Ahmedabad asset also confirmed the development, but added that the gas pipeline did not belong to the company.
