On June 12, 2023, Garden View Village hosted the Kimberley Health-Care Auxiliary in celebration of their 70th anniversary. This legacy includes the contributions of several Village residents who are among those dedicated volunteers who gave their time in support of community health and well-being. The afternoon was spent reminiscing and remembering the people and events that contributed to the well over $2M worth of material goods and priceless hours of care from the heart in support of our hospitals. Theirs is a legacy that, in this day and age, is but an aspiration for those to whom they passed the torch. Their work is documented in a series of albums featuring highlights of the history of the Kimberley Health-Care Auxiliary by decade beginning in 1953. In addition, participants mused over records in the flowing script of cursive writing that document the astounding number of volunteer hours and items sewn by the women of Kimberley and Marysville.
