The Loris Police Department posted an odd statement on Facebook, stating that SLED is investigating claims that had been posted online.

Everything, it seems, costs a little more these days. And the price for storing and retrieving police body camera footage is no exception, Loris City Council learned Monday, Jan. 8.

Loris city officials will be focused on finishing what they started in 2024. From updating the animal ordinance, addressing flooding issues, replenishing the police car fleet and finalizing planning documents, city officials will tackle a full slate of issues carried over from 2023.

Loris city officials are considering adopting the same animal control ordinances that Horry County has in place that prevent tethering under certain conditions and other stipulations for pet care.
