Permanent Move for Croft? - Ipswich Town News

Permanent Move for Croft? Thursday, 24th Jan 2002 10:09 On loan defender Gary Croft seems keen to make his spell at Wigan a permanent move. The full-back joined Wigan on a month's loan last week, making his debut in their victory over Brentford at the weekend. Croft says he sees a lot of potential at the JJB Stadium: "I didn't actually negotiate the deal myself, so I'm not sure what happened behind the scenes. But if myself and the club get on well and both clubs can agree fees, you never know what might happen. I see Wigan as a big club with a big future."

McNaughton the Man? - Ipswich Town News

McNaughton the Man? Thursday, 24th Jan 2002 12:02 Reports this afternoon claim that Aberdeen's Kevin McNaughton was George Burley's target when he watched Hibernian lose 4-3 to Aberdeen at Easter Road last night. McNaughton is a highly-rated full-back who can play on either side of defence. The 19-year-old Scottish U21 international is naturally right-footed, but has spent most of his career so far playing on the left of defence. He has attracted a great deal of attention from English clubs over recent months including Liverpool, West Ham, Middlesbrough, Leeds and Cardiff City. However, M...

Town 1-0 Birmingham - Ipswich Town News

Town 1-0 Birmingham Wednesday, 10th Jan 2001 00:31 Town take a 1-0 victory to St Andrew's in two weeks time. Birmingham came with their usual physical, defensive approach, but most fans who were at Portman Road will probably most remember the contribution of referee Clive Wilkes who was as pedantic as they get and who made so many poor decisions that at one stage the whistle would blown and fans would know neither which way the fr...

Lambert: We'd Have to Sell to Do Anything of Significance - Ipswich Town News

Lambert: We'd Have to Sell to Do Anything of Significance Friday, 10th Jan 2020 14:09 Blues boss Paul Lambert has reiterated that players would have to be sold for him to spend anything of significance during the January transfer window but that ideally he doesn’t want to lose any of his promising youngsters, with Flynn Downes and Luke Woolfenden both understood to have attracted the interest of clubs from higher divisions. He added that if sales of that nature are made 100 per cent of the proceeds would have to go back into the team. Asked whether it remained the case that additions woul...

Pablo Out of Squad - Ipswich Town News

Pablo Out of Squad Thursday, 20th Dec 2001 16:15 Pablo Couñago has dropped out of the squad for the match with Spurs at the weekend with a thigh injury. The Spaniard was injured in last night's reserve game. Alun Armstrong remains a concern as he hasn't trained all week due to his back problem. Richard Naylor looks likely to take his place should he fail to make it. Gary Croft took a boot in the face late on last night and had stiches. He will be available to George Burley should he decide to recall the almost forgotten full-back. Martijn Reuser and Mark Venus are both OK after Reuser ca...
