Artist Spotlight: Gary Hoare Gary Hoare Gary Hoare studied painting at University of Massachusetts, Amherst, with a focus on abstract expressionism, receiving a BFA in 1995. He paints abstract watercolors with an anchor of realism, often in the form of landscapes, flowers and astronomical objects. He is also a poet, and has competed in the National Poetry Slam for teams representing Worcester and Providence.
