The annual Gate River Run is Saturday, and if you’re entered, now might be the time to make sure you have the right shoe.

The Gate River Run -- a longtime Jacksonville tradition -- fires up Saturday with thousands of runners on the course through downtown and the Southbank. Some race to win. Many run for the pride of tackling the “Green Monster” -- the Hart Bridge -- near the end of the race.

Around 14,000 runners are getting ready to participate in the Gate River Run this Saturday, and there are some things you need to know ahead of the race – especially if you’ll be around the downtown area.
