As a Jacksonville 2-year-old is in critical condition after being rescued, national and local officials warn again of the dangers of pools and ponds.

On Monday night, a missing 4-year-old boy who had been diagnosed with autism was found dead in a Northside retention pond after he was reported missing. Just over a month ago, the same thing happened to a 5-year-old boy. Both children were nonverbal.

As city leaders explore making changes, the News4Jax I-TEAM found that barriers are not currently installed around all the city retention ponds.

Gavin Douyon, 3, was found dead in a retention pond on Memorial Day. Recently, Mohamad Nour, 4, also was found dead in a different Jacksonville pond.
