인천대학교(총장 박종태)는 송영준 생명공학부 나노바이오전공 교수 연구팀이 DNA 중앙연산처리장치(DNA CPU)칩 개발을 주제로 한국연구재단 집단 연구지원사업인 기초연구실 지원사업(Basic Research Laboratory, BRL)에 선정됐다고 19일 밝혔다.

본 사업은 한국전자기술연구원(KETI)을 주관기관으로 포항공대, 고려대, 서울대, 한양대로 구성된 컨소시엄에서 2019년부터 2년간 수행해 왔으며, 올해부터 인천대와 경기대가 신규로 참여하여 7개 기관이 공동으로 2024년까지 3년간 사업을 수행하게 되었다.

산업인공지능이란 제조산업과 제조 관련 전후방 서비스산업에 AI를 적용, 제조업 고도화를 통해 새로운 부가가치를 창출할 수 있는 기술들을 일컫는다.

그간 정부는 ‘스마트공장 확산 및 고도화전략 을 통해 2022년까지 스마트공장 3만개 보급 및 스마트제조혁신 전문인력 10만명 양성을 비롯해 사물인터넷, 인공지능 등을 활용한 스마트공장 신기술 개발 등 제조경쟁력 강화를 위해 노력해왔다.
