NHS England has announced that two general practice retention schemes will end in March, in a move criticised by the Royal College of General Practitioners. The General Practice Fellowship—a two year programme that provides support, mentorship, and learning opportunities to newly qualified GPs and nurses who are new to general practice—is one of the schemes set to be cut.
