MIT canceled a visiting professor’s lecture after many took to Twitter to call out his views on diversity higher ed. 

Dorian Abbot was denied the opportunity to give the prestigious Carlson Lecture at Cambridge, Massachusetts-based MIT on October 21 because he supports 'merit-based evaluations.'

The MIT has caved to the demands of progressive activists to cancel a guest lecture because of the speaker's opinions on diversity hiring.

Prof. Emeritus Victor Barcilon, applied mathematician and geophysical scientist, died April 15. He was 81.
