Obit: Patsy Irene Carlon

Patsy was born to Art and Addy Knopf on Sept. 18, 1928 in Portland.
Patsy graduated from Parkrose High of Portland in 1945 and worked as a pathology lab technician at Portland Providence Hospital until 1947 when she started at Oregon State with a 4-H scholarship. She met George on a blind date at OSU and neither one was too keen on going, but George, using his ole’ Lake County charm, swept this city gal off her feet. This cattleman later “pinned” her (Theta Chi) by the hog barns, go figure. George proposed to Patsy on top of Rocky Butte in Portland with its stunning views of the Columbia River Gorge and the city. They were married on Oct. 2, 1949 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Portland. ....
