To the editor: My opinion is that Elise Stefanik knows better but has chosen to align herself with conspiracy theories in order to maintain her popularity with what’s left of the Trump base. I suspect his base will gradually come to grips with the reality of democracy, that being that their chosen candidate is capable of losing. Just because Donald Trump believes he is incapable of being wrong, incapable of losing, and thinks he can “shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and still get elected” does not make it so.
