David Jones, a businessman who served as the mayor of Wilmington from 1999 to 2001, died Sunday. Louise McColl, a longtime Wilmington political operative who ran Jones' campaign for mayor in 1999, called Jones a "great friend" in a post on her Facebook page, and a "compassionate, caring, family man."
