IMPROVEMENTS to pavements, lighting and street furniture should only be the start of a major project to revive Witham town centre, campaigners have said. Braintree Council is hoping to get the final green light from Essex Highways to begin its facelift of Newland Street and nearby roads in the coming weeks. It is hoped improvements will be completed by the spring. Along with widening footpaths, new signs and cycle storage will be added in the town centre.
