Edmonds musician to participate in Make Music Day festival June 21

Edmonds musician Nick Baker is known to many for his support of seniors bringing music, piano and vocals to them and lifting spirits. What is less well known is that in pre-COVID times, Baker has also traveled the world with a performance band called United by Music North America.
Baker will once again takes the stage with United by Music, playing two shows with other group members some traveling in from the East Coast at Fest4ALL Make Music Day in Gig Harbor Monday, June 21.
The international celebration is held on the longest day of the year the Summer Solstice in 1,000 cities around the world and online. ....

A large barge ran aground in Gig Harbor Monday morning, hitting a waterfront home off Sunrise Beach Drive.
Coast Guard officials said the captain of the tugboat Island Chief fell asleep at the helm. The tug did not run aground, but the barge, named Island Chase, did, scraping the waterfront house.
The tug was heading southbound at the time and the barge was empty.
The general manager of Island Tug and Barge Company said his four-person crew was able to scramble into action to pull the barge off the beach and prevent more damage. ....

A large barge ran aground and damaged three waterfront homes Monday morning, the Gig Harbor Fire Department said. No injuries were reported.

GIG HARBOR, Wash. A large barge damaged three waterfront homes in Gig Harbor Monday morning.
Sergeant Darren Moss said the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department received a call about the incident around 8 a.m. The damaged homes are on the 9500 block of Sunrise Beach Drive NW.
The Gig Harbor Fire Department tweeted the barge ran aground when it struck the homes. No injuries or pollution were reported. ....
