Four Guests Per Student Allowed at YUHSD Graduations

The Yuma Union High School District announced Tuesday that it would allow four guests per student during commencement ceremonies for the class of 2021.
All schools in the district will have their graduations on Friday, May 21. With the expectation of Vista High School s graduation on Wednesday, May 19 in the performing arts auditorium at Gila Ridge High School. While the ceremonies will be held in person, graduates will choose their four guests in advance through an online platform. In addition, guests will be required to check-in and complete a COVID-19 wavier. Those not looking to attend the ceremonies can tune in virtually through each school s Facebook page the night of the ceremony. ....

Arizona Western College Announces Return of In-Person Graduation Ceremonies

The Pomp and Circumstance will be returning in person for Arizona Western College students next month.
The 2020 commencement was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the number of vaccinations increasing daily and a drop in COVID cases, AWC officials announced two ceremonies this year in order to reduce crowd sizes.
The graduation ceremonies will take place on May 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Stadium on the campus of Gila Ridge High School.
On the 13th, AWC will celebrate its graduates earning an Associate of Arts, Associate of Business, Associate of General Studies, Associate of Applied Science last names A-C and Nursing students along with graduates of the Arizona State University and University of Arizona programs in Yuma. NAU-Yuma has chosen not to participate in person, but AWC will still celebrate those graduates. ....
