June 03, 2021GILFORD — Members of the Gilford track team didn't have to travel far for the Division III State Meet, as Gilford High School played host to the championships on Tuesday, May 25, and Wednesday, May 26.
This year, to keep the number of athletes to a minimum, the meet was divided into two meets, with the girls competing first on Tuesday and the boys following on Wednesday.
The story of the boys' State Meet was Patrick Gandini, as the Gilford sophomore claimed the title in the three distance events.

June 03, 2021GILFORD — Members of the Prospect Mountain track team made the short trip along Route 11 for the Division III State Meet last week.
This year, the meet was divided into two meets, with the girls competing on Tuesday, May 25, and the boys competing on Wednesday, May 26, both at Gilford High School.
The top performance for the Prospect girls came from the 4X800-meter relay team, as Veronica Dowd, Amber Fernald, Ella Smith and Hannah Capsalis ran to a time of 11:29.32 for third place.

June 03, 2021GILFORD — Members of the Berlin track team made the trip south to Gilford High School last week to take part in the Division III State Meet.
This year, things were a little different, as the meet was divided into two meets, one for the girls and one for the boys.
The girls were up first, competing on Tuesday, May 25. The Mountaineer girls finished in a tie for 17th place overall, with Hopkinton taking the win and Newfound finishing in second place.

June 03, 2021GILFORD — The Belmont track team put up some impressive performances at the Division III State Meets last week.
This year, to keep the number of athletes to a minimum, the meet was divided into two, with the girls competing on Tuesday, May 25, and the boys competing on Wednesday, May 26, both at Gilford High School.
In the 100 meters for the girls, Emma Winslow finished in fourth in the preliminaries with a time of 13.63 seconds and took third in the finals in 13.67 seconds.

Kearsarge's Berhan Kidane competes at the 2021 Division III boys' track & field championships on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at Gilford High School. Kearsarge trailed Newport by four points when the meet was suspended after 16 of 18 events due to thunderstorms. The final two events, triple jump and high jump, will be completed on Saturday. Kidane is one of three competitors left in the high jump and is also still competing in the triple jump, as is Newport’s Marius Edwards. Kidane did finish third in the long jump. NEASC commends Gilford High School for work in several areas

NEASC commends Gilford High School for work in several areas
May 12, 2021The Commission on Public Schools, at its March 8 meeting, reviewed the Decennial Accreditation Report from the recent visit to Gilford High School and voted to award the school continued Accreditation in the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
The Commission was impressed with the progress made on the Priority Areas for Growth and increased alignment with the Principles of Effective Practice since the time of the Collaborative Conference visit and wishes to commend the following:
- The creation and implementation of a Portrait of a Learner for the entire school district. The school's roundtable discussion with neighboring schools to share strategies around creating a Portrait of a Learner.
