A private school for preschool through sixth-graders is slated to open in Zirconia this September.
Wild Oak Independent School President Cecily Rouse Timmons came up with the idea for the school about two years ago. The type of education she and her husband wanted for their daughters, currently ages 3 and 9, wasn’t available through private and public schools in Henderson County, Timmons said.  
“We were looking for something just a little bit different for her,” she said, referring to her older daughter. “Something where she could be outside a little bit more; where she’d have a little bit more freedom to explore academic interests that were interesting to her and, frankly, where she would get more personalized attention in the classroom.” ....
