The NSW premier is taking a "proportional response" to the COVID-19 scare in Western Australia and isn't changing the state's open border policy.
"It is a manageable situation at this stage and there is no reason why we will be altering our border situation," Gladys Berejiklian told reporters on Monday.
However, recent arrivals from WA will be screened after a Perth hotel quarantine security guard tested positive and two million people were put into a five-day lockdown on Sunday.
Travellers from WA who have arrived in the past week are also being told to self-isolate until Friday and confirm if they attended any of the venues listed on the WA Health website.

Northern beaches COVID-19 cluster causes airport anxiety for Christmas travellers

Thousands of anxious passengers are desperately trying to fly out of Sydney before their Christmas travel plans are ruined after a growing COVID outbreak on the city's northern beaches.
The cluster of 17 cases is predicted to grow on Friday, with NSW Premier Gladys Berejikilian warning the state to 'brace' for the results of a massive testing blitz.
The outbreak comes on what is the busiest weekend of the year for airports, when millions of Australians catch flights around the country for Christmas.
One couple from the northern beaches had arrived at the airport simply to find out if they could fly after struggling to get any help online or over the phone.

NSW system of drug depenalisation: A modest step towards inevitable decriminalisation - Criminal Law

At a 30 November meeting, NSW government cabinet ministers
discussed a three-tiered system of depenalisation for the offence
of personal drug possession.
First spruiked by attorney general Mark Speakman, the
step-in-the-right-direction policy gained broad, but not unanimous, support.
A conservative minister went on to leak word of it to the Seven
Network. It then misrepresented the policy as decriminalisation,
whereas the government proposal doesn't aim to remove the
criminal offence altogether, but it would rather heighten the
threshold as to when sanctions apply.
