The sale of a vacant lot in the Patrick’s Subdivision to a local business owner was approved by the Wapello City Council on Thursday, following a pair of public hearings.
A companion amendment will decrease the city’s sewer rates by nearly 12%. Under the city’s ordinance, the current sewer rate is 170% of the net water bill. Together, city officials said the net effect on water/sewer bills would be an 11.1% increase for city residential and non-residential users.
