As the first heavy showers continued to lash the state, parts of Pernem, Mapusa, Guirim, Bambolim and Agassaim flyover reported heavy water logging till Wednesday evening. A retaining wall in St Andre collapsed and a subway near Goa Medical College was flooded as traffic movement continued to be affected in several areas.

After IMD issued a red alert, a two-day holiday for school students up to Class 8 was announced in Goa. Regular classes will be held for Classes 9-12.
Rain in Goa: In fact, between October 11 and 14, heavy showers are expected to be seen. Normal withdrawal of Monsoon over Goa is October 14, but with these spells of rains, early withdrawal is not expected. We can see Monsoon withdrawing around October 16, and the stipulated date may be surpassed.
