Nine people are facing charges over the largest theft of gold in Canada’s history, which occurred more than 12 months ago at an international airport in Toronto.
Visakhapatnam: Srikakulam district police arrested two persons in connection with a gold robbery case and recovered around 250 gram of gold from them.
Rs 75000 in cash, gold ornaments, Muga Silk dresses and other valuables amounting to around Rs 4 lakh were looted by the thieves.
The police also arrested a woman named Shivani Karmakar who was connected to the jewellers.
Raj Honey, the second accused in the 2019 gold robbery case was shot dead during an incident that unfolded on Sunday night. This case had already seen violence, as on January 3, 2020, another accused named Manish Kumar was fatally shot while in custody at Hajipur jail.
