Are not physical. you can t have sex if we re not in the same room, it s hard to smoke a joint and pass it if we re not together. so i think it speaks for a lot of what we are seeing here. is it good or bad? we re talking about this earlier. i do think that kind of arrested development is for not bad. it s not a positive, not to be independent, not to crave independents, not to test independents. i think anita raider a 12th grader whose functioning like an eighth grader socially has some growing up to do. and then there s life that s gonna kick you in real fast. and you don t want certain experiences to be the first time they have been at college where you have fully grown adults and other people i agree with what you were saying earlier, high school is the place to work up the case. and it s unfortunately that children aren t able to do it as much. of course, we don t want them obviously i m not saying [inaudible] ....

You re a young kid, that s not nearly enough time, is it? no, i want you to think about those first graders. we have all seen them. that s the year they lose the front teeth. now we shuffle them into this line. they have 25 minutes from the time they get to the classroom to the time they need to be done, so by the time they get through the line, we want them to eat fresh fruits and vegetables, but often times they only have 10 to 12 minute ss to eat. that s not something the usda is going to address through regulation, but it s something we need to be thinking about at our local levels and in our state governments about how can we address giving students enough time to eat. we can put the best food on the tray ever, but if it they don t have time to eat it, they are not getting the nutrition you need. you give a toothless a first grader an apple, he s going to need more than 25 minutes to get it down. jeremy west, thank you so much for being with us. we ll be right back. ....

Panic, that people have an irrational fear of what s going on. we re not looking to ban books. we re not looking to burn books. we just need to get back to a system where parents know what their kids are learning, and for the most part it s educational, not political. reporter: one of the books is slaughterhouse 5 . i read that in high school. reporter: would you want that removed? again, age appropriate. reporter: is someone assigning a first grader to slaughterhouse 5 ? no. again, it s the right of the patients to know that it s there, that their children have access to something they may not have access to at home. reporter: one of the big issues right now is pronouns. in march, colorado s district 11 school board considered a proposal to prevent teachers from asking their pronouns, ....

whoo might not be appropriate for a 6-year-old is appropriate for a 15-year-old. is someone assigning a first grader to slaughterhouse 5? no. but it s the right of the parents to know that it s there. that their children have access to something that they may not have access to at home. reporter: one of the big issues right now is pronouns. in march, colorado s district 11 school board considered a proposal to prevent teachers from asking kids their pronouns, sparking protests. teachers can no longer ask kids their pronouns. that s right. no more grooming kids with pronounces in d-11. reporter: the school board has tabled the proposal. why is asking a child their pronouns indoctrination? if you ask my children who are 7 and 8 what are your pronouns? they don t even know what that is. so when you ask that, you re planting the seed in their minds that they maybe should identify as another gender, or that identifying as another gender is hip or cool. ....
