"Graph Theory Based Voltage Sag Mitigation Cluster Formation Utilizing " by Subir Majumder, Shrikrishna A. Khaparde et al.

Voltage sag mitigation utilizing dynamic voltage restorers (DVRs) can be classified as a common-pool resource (CPR) good. However, the ability of DVRs in improving voltage sag performance of only downstream customers provides the ability to exclude the non-contributors selectively. Therefore, unlike traditional CPR goods, the DVR allocation problem can give rise to partial excludability. Here, the non-collocated customers have been divided into feasible clusters through suitable positioning of DVRs using the proposed graph-partitioning principle. In the absence of trustworthiness, especially w...

An AI has disproved five mathematical conjectures with no human help

Technology 20 May 2021 Shutterstock/ktsdesign An artificial intelligence has disproved five mathematical conjectures, despite not being equipped with any information about the problems. Adam Zsolt Wagner at Tel Aviv University used an AI approach to search for examples that would disprove a range of long standing conjectures in graph theory, an area of mathematics that involves studying objects made of nodes and links. Mathematicians thought these conjectures were true, but had not been able to prove them. For...
