Thomas “Tom” J. Gordon 1929 - 2021 Thomas “Tom” J. Gordon GREELEY, Colo. Thomas “Tom” J. Gordon, 91, of Greeley, passed away Jan. 8, 2021, at his home in Greeley. Tom was born June 22, 1929 in Mountain View, Okla., to Thomas J. and Etta (Murray) Gordon. He married Wynona Webb on Oct. 7, 1951 in Annapolis, Maryland. They were married for 66 years. He was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors’ degree in Chemistry. Tom moved to Great Bend, Kan., in 1954. He was the founder and President of Gordon Lab, Inc., an oilfield chemical company, for about 25 years. He was a member and officer of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the National Association of Corrosion Engineers, and member of the Board of Directors of the American Petroleum Institute, the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce and President of the Great Bend County Club. He served as Lay Reader and Senior Warden of St. John’s Episcopal Church, president of the Great Bend Rotary Club and District Governor of Rotary District 5670.
GREELEY Longtime “voice of Greeley” Joe Tennessen has died. The KFKA, 1310 AM, radio personality will be buried after an observance at Adamson Life Celebration Home today from 5 to 7 p.m. and a private family funeral mass at St. Peter Catholic Church. Tennessen, 88, was emcee at numerous community events throughout his tenure in Greeley, which began when he joined KFKA as an announcer and later a part owner. He died Feb. 1 at Columbine Commons in Windsor.
