Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, a unit of Tata Motors, has unveiled a new brand identity, TATA.ev, as it plans to introduce ten new battery electric vehicles by 2026. The company aims to provide a unique customer experience and accelerate the adoption of clean energy mobility solutions. With a market share of over 70% in the four-wheeler EV segment, Tata Motors intends to drive positive change in the automotive industry with a focus on sustainability, community, and technology. The company expects electric vehicles to account for half of its passenger vehicle sales by 2030.
Recently, a private 2-wheeler EV company announced the decision to end its free public charging service. While most 2-wheelers depend on home-charging, range anxiety remains the major reason for usage of the public chargers. Though the private players charge a higher rate than BESCOM, experts feel that many issues surrounding BESCOM chargers will hinder its adoption.
