Canute tried to order back the tide, while Morrison is trying to push back on the inevitability of the rest of the world setting a zero emissions target, and placing sanctions against those who fail to do so. While he rabbits on about âAustralia will decide its own climate goalsâ, the rest of the world will decide how it deals with our recalcitrance. Like Canute, Morrisonâs stance is the essence of futility. ....
