DOH reinstates doctor accused of exposing patients, staff to COVID-19

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The Rhode Island Department of Health reinstated the medical license of a doctor accused of intentionally exposing his patients and staff to COVID-19.
Dr. Anthony Farina’s license was suspended in January after he continued to go into work after testing positive for the coronavirus. He treated his patients who were not aware he was sick.
Farina’s medical privileges were restored on February 23 after the Department of Health determined that Farina was no longer a danger to the public.
Farina has denied all accusations.
Dr. Farina’s practices are identified as the Center of New England Primary Care Inc., Center of New England Urgent Care Inc., Physicians Weight Loss & Medical Services Inc., North Providence Primary Care Associates Inc., North Providence Urgent Care Inc. and East Greenwich Urgent Care, Inc. ....

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott, Director of The Rhode Island Department of Health has ordered the license of a North Providence doctor to be emergency summarily suspended. Investigators determined that he deliberately exposed his staff and patients to COVID-19, endangering the community.
Dr. Anthony Farina, a graduate of Brown University School of medicine, runs six medical practices in the state. According to a 21 page document issued by the Department of Health, Dr. Farina has been suspended from practicing medicine indefinitely. ....

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. A local doctor had his medical license suspended indefinitely for deliberately exposing his patients and staff members to the coronavirus.
Dr. Anthony Farina Jr., an internal medicine specialist with six medical practices in Johnston, East Greenwich, and North Providence, is accused of working while sick with COVID-19, infecting his office, and other misconduct that the state Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline said made him “an immediate danger to the public.” ....
