The Art Gallery of Ontario says it will review some of its governance policies and work on “rebuilding of trust” as it faces intense criticism over the departure of its celebrated Indigenous curator Wanda Nanibush earlier this month.
Belisle is currently the executive director and chief curator of the Musée d’art de Joliette near Montreal, Canada.
For the past seven years, he served as executive director and chief curator of the Musée d’art de Joliette in Quebec.
She had been named interim director and CEO last summer. The full-time position was posted in January of this year.
