Joyce Ann Hintermeister, the daughter of William and Lucy (Morgan) Smith, was born on December 15, 1937 in Muscatine, Iowa. Joyce graduated from Muscatine High School in 1955. Joyce met her husband, Gene Hintermeister, on a blind double-date at the movies.
