By: Amy Kauffman BRISTOW, Okla. - The City of Bristow is proposing a one cent sales tax on the April 6th ballot to help build a new hospital. The current hospital is 66 years old and city leaders say this is a chance for voters to invest in the future. Bristow Mayor Rick Pinson said a new hospital is essential for growth for the city of Bristow, and he hopes voters will see the importance of keeping it open. "If you don't have that facility here, it could be a life and if we can save one life, it will be worth it all,” said Pinson.

March 10, 2021 Construction on a new $87 million peanut shelling and storage facility in Atmore is well underway, and an ceremonial groundbreaking was held Wednesday. The Coastal Growers facility, located in the Atmore Industrial Park, is owned by a cooperative of farmers who live mostly in Alabama and Florida.
