Gyanvapi's additional sessions judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar raised a complaint with Uttar Pradesh police requesting for a probe into the deaths threats he has been receiving from international numbers.
The court of civil judge (senior division) ordered ASI to provide copy of the Gyanvapi survey report to the parties of a 1991 suit
"The report clearly states that a temple existed at the site ( of Gyanvapi mosque). The Government of India should take further steps in this matter, declare it a national monument and handover the whole area to Hindus by passing a law. A trust like the one in Ayodhya should be made here also so that offering of prayers can begin," Hari Shankar Jain said.
According to counsel for the Hindu side, Vishnu Shankar Jain, the ASI survey report on the Gyanvapi complex in Varanasi reveals that the mosque was built on the remains of a pre-existing temple. Jain stated that the report, consisting of 839 pages, provides sufficient evidence of the temple's existence before the mosque was constructed. Earlier, 11 individuals from both the Hindu and Muslim sides had applied in court to obtain the ASI survey report.
The order has come as a boost to the Hindu petitioners who wanted the report to be shared with the parties and had filed an application that it be shared with them via email. However, instead of an email, they have been allowed access to the hard copies.
