PHILADELPHIA - It’s the news restaurant and gym owners in Philadelphia have been waiting for amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The city announced Friday a $12 million grant program aimed at helping businesses.
  The Philadelphia Restaurant and Gym Relief Program is a $12 million grant program designed to provide financial relief to small businesses in Philadelphia that have been among the most adversely affected, Karen Fegely, deputy commerce director for the City of Philadelphia, said.
Businesses like Fitness Works gym. Manager Joeseph Renzi has been frustrated over the most recent shutdown. ....

Philadelphia announces Restaurant and Gym Relief Program for small businesses affected by COVID-19 restrictions


PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) The City of Philadelphia announced Friday the Philadelphia COVID-19 Restaurant and Gym Relief Program, a $12 million grant program designed to provide financial relief to small businesses that have been affected by the most recent restrictions.
On Nov. 20, the city banned indoor dining from restaurants, closed gyms, and reduced capacity at retail stores to five people per 1,000 square feet. Gyms were allowed to reopen on Jan. 4; indoor dining resumed on Jan. 16.
Indoor dining will resume at Philadelphia restaurants after the city lifted a nearly two month ban due to the spread of the coronavirus.
The city says the new program was made possible through the latest allocation of funding for small business relief through a mid-year transfer of City General Fund dollars in Dec. 2020. ....

The City of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) announced plans Friday to launch a $12 million grant program aimed at helping the city’s pandemic-battered restaurants and gyms.
The Philadelphia COVID-19 Restaurant and Gym Relief Program is designed to provide financial relief to small businesses in the city that have been among the most adversely affected by the latest round of pandemic-related restrictions enacted in November 2020.
Grant awards are estimated to be up to $15,000 per business. ....
